Hazardous & Electronic Waste: 

L.A. County residents are invited to bring HHW (unused pesticides, old batteries, used automotive fluids, unused cleaning products, expired pharmaceuticals, etc.) and E-Waste (computers, old televisions, broken cell phones, etc.). 

  • West Covina Household Hazardous Waste and E-Waste Collection on 5/20/17 from  9am-3pm at West Covina Maintenance Yard, 825 Sunset Ave, West Covina, CA 91793.

Oil Recycling & Oil Filter Exchange:

La Verne residents can bring used motor oil to any certified collection center on the CalRecycle website at http://www.calrecycle.ca.gov/UsedOil/Reports/CenterSearch

Go to the LA County Smart Gardening Website at https://dpw.lacounty.gov/epd/sg/ for classes, tips, and workshops that will help you conserve water, improve water quality, and help the environment outdoors. Those who attend workshops can get discounted composting and worm composting bins and information on other opportunities. The following are upcoming workshops in the region:

  • In Walnut, LA County is offering a Beginner Gardening Workshop. Beginner workshops teach you about water wise gardening, composting, and grasscycling. The workshop is on 4/8/2017 from 9:30 am – 11:00 am at Walnut Senior Center, 21215 La Puente Rd, Walnut, CA, 91789
